Old Faithful Virtual Visitor Education Center 西姆資訊中心(West Thumb Information Center)，提供關於黃石湖的岸邊相鄰的間歇泉盆地資訊。Phone 307-344-2650. 在園區內還可以釣魚和划船，但釣魚和划船前，需要先至護林員駐地取得許可證。在釣魚前請先瞭解規章制度，許多河流抓住魚後要放掉或只能用假繩鉤釣魚，而一些河流不允許釣魚。只能在湖裏划船，湖水很冷，非常危險。只能在指定的區域內宿營和點篝火。所有隔夜旅行都必須有荒野許可證。將您的計劃告訴護林員。單獨遠足是不安全的。所以必須瞭解怎樣在熊的領地裏存放食物，此外汽車和自行車禁止駛入小路。  每年五月中至十月，黃石公園還提供一種語音導覽系統，這種語音導覽系統 (The Tour Guide System) 其實就是一具光碟隨身聽和一片光碟，光碟的內容包括公園的人文、野生動物、地質及生態環境等介紹，遊客可以自行選擇自己想要聽的公園景觀介紹，這套語音導覽系統要插入汽車香煙點煙器上使用，遊客可以在公園內任何一處 AmFac Parks and Resorts Activities Desks 洽詢，價格為全天 $24.95，半天 $15.95！

四季分明，1月平均高溫 -4.8℃，平均低溫-18.3℃，6月平均高溫20.2℃，平均低溫2.3℃。六月底到八月短袖綿質T恤、短褲或輕質長褲必備，如欲從事戶外活動最好再添加薄外套。十二月至三月初為冬季，須準備靴子、厚襪、衛生衣、手套、帽子。

公園內的旅館共有九處，可透過統一訂房中心安排，但內部設備多半較簡單，在旺季時普遍客滿，需提早訂房。建議住宿公園入口處 (如 West Yellowstone 或 Gardiner) 的眾多旅館，設備較新穎舒適。
